Who we are
Aisling (“we”, “us”) provides a lucid-dreaming companion app for iOS and Android. This policy applies to the Aisling app and this website.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and name to sign you in and secure your account. We never see or store your password.
Content you create
The heart of the app is your own content: dream entries and their text, dream signs and tags, reality-check history, technique progress, and your preferences. You create this; we store it so the app works for you.
Voice capture
If you capture a dream by voice, transcription happens on your device using your operating system's speech recognition. We do not record, upload, or store your audio — only the text you choose to save.
Notifications
Reality-check reminders and wake alarms are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push server or track whether you open them.
What we don't collect
No advertising identifiers, no location tracking, no selling of data. Aisling has no ads.
How we use your information
- To provide the app — save your dreams, run reminders, and sync across your devices.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To maintain, debug, and improve the service.
Where your data is stored
Aisling is offline-first: your data lives on your device and works without a connection. When you're signed in, your entries are also backed up to our cloud database (hosted on Neon) so they survive a reinstall and sync across devices. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access is restricted to your own account by row-level security. Cloud infrastructure is currently located in the United States.
Service providers
We share data only with the vendors needed to run the app:
- Clerk — authentication (your email, name, sign-in sessions).
- Neon — the managed database that stores your synced content.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — distribution and, if you subscribe in the future, payments (we never receive your card details).
Retention & deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app — this permanently removes your dreams, tags, logs, and profile from our systems. You can also email us to request deletion. Local data is cleared when you sign out.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, export, correct, or delete your data. The app gives you direct access to all of it; contact us for anything else.
Children
Aisling is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll update this policy as the app evolves and revise the date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or on this page.
